Key Points

All the tools in the world won't help you if you don't believe that you deserve to be on the top of your to-do list.

Developing healthy habits is usually most successful when done with someone else to support you.

Our culture treats being overworked, tired and stressed like a badge of honor; it's the rationale that if you're not exhausted, then you must not be doing enough.

Self-care is about the things we do every day that are essential to be that foundation that broadens the platform from which we serve.

Being yourself in way that supports others requires your presence. It doesn't require your action. But you must be fully present, and without self-care, you can't be fully present.

What You Can Do

The five pillars of self-care are:

  1. Moving your body
  2. Eating nourishing, whole foods that your body can easily digest
  3. Getting enough sleep
  4. Making time for joy
  5. Moving through the world with ease

Think about what specific aspects of your day could be made easier. How?

Before you can put yourself at the top of your to-do list, you have to believe that you deserve to be there.  Your mindset must change so that you truly believe that self-care is not selfish.

Set yourself up to have an awesome morning by beginning the night before.

Make mantras for your new habits and routines. Brodie uses "Mornings are mine" and "First things first."

Don't hold back your gifts. Share them with the world. You can only do that if you practice self-care.
